Futuristically designed, it was built to house originally Indian blue peacocks but now also containing golden pheasants, reeves pheasants, lady amhursts pheasants and guinea fowl.

Kept in during the winter and laying period, the birds are normally free range around the grounds.  The original pair of peafowl were given by Earl Spencer Of Althorpe – Princess Diana’s father. In fact a young lady Diana helped catch the wayward birds by pouncing on them from her then V.W. buggy during the peacock roundup.
